Tanzania Diaspora Initiative (TDI) was founded in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania in 2012. A partnership registered under The Business Names (Registration) Act (Cap. 213).
The Institution strives to be the unified voice and power of the Diaspora which is directly involved in the development of our communities all over the world.

TDI believes that effective modes of networking across the many communities in Tanzania and within Tanzanian Diaspora are essential in forming a unified action based institution.

The First Diaspora Homecoming Conference 2014 also involves stakeholders from the business community, who were expected to present papers on the changing face of investment in Tanzania, policy and business environment.
President Jakaya Kikwete said when opening the two-day meeting that Tanzanians living abroad could contribute significantly to the country’s development through remittances and investment.
