This is a four(4) day event conceptualised and organised by the Tanzania Diaspora Initiative (TDI) the first in country private sector diaspora platform. The convention targets the tribe diaspora, diaspora communities, their families and associates (locally and abroad), the government of the United Republic of Tanzania, investors, corporates, professionals, embassies, students, support organizations, service providers, among other stakeholders.
The overall objective of the convention will be to sensitize diasporas on the opportunities available for them to invest or bring investors back home as opposed to just sending money for consumption and subsistence. We seek to use this forum to reassure diasporas of safeguards already in place for their investments as well as considerations and efforts being made to further secure their interests and remittances.
This year's theme will be: Reigniting A Nation of Greatness - Diaspora Resources for Inclusive Growth. The event shall be a 'Triple Hybrid', being both Convention, Exhibition (Expo), both In-person/Physical, as well as Virtual (including Virtual Booths, Meeting Rooms, etc) and a Themed Gala Dinner.
Eminent and sought after speakers will be present. We welcome submissions from experts, speakers and organizations seeking to share their experience and expertise during our conference sessions.
"Converged and financially empowered audience. It will be an avenue to exchange knowledge, gain insights, learn from experts, and stay up to date on the latest innovations, networks and investment/business opportunities globally"
Tanzania Diaspora Initiative (TDI) wishes to announce the Diaspora Convention & Expo to take place in Dar es Salaam - Tanzania at the Serena Hotel from August 23rd - 26th, 2023. Tanzanians who are domiciled in Europe, United States, Canada (the Americas), Australia, the Middle East, Africa and Asia, among others, will congregate in Dar es Salaam to deliberate on a wide range of important national and global issues. The convention intends to engage all actors on areas of mutual interest to foster development in Tanzania and strengthen bilateral/multilateral relations and democratic growth. Tanzanians abroad believe that they are key stakeholders in Tanzania’s socio-economic welfare, but there is increasing concern among them for the apparent poor engagements by policy makers on various matters of mutual interest. The Tanzanian Disapora also believe that the government of United Republic of Tanzania - Mainland and Zanzibar (including devolved structures) and the corporate sector should open up clear and well defined engagement strategies to harness the various academic and professional skills possessed by the country’s overseas professionals for the common good.
